First Annual Fall Workday A Big Success!
October 25 was a fantastic day for our first annual Fall Workday at Whitetail Lodge. A BIG THANK YOU to the nine people who showed up to help Judy and I get our Peace Garden and the Pathway of Hope gardens ready for the winter. All the hostas and other perennials needed to be cut back and then straw spread on top of all the gardens. Judy, Ericka Peterson, Al and Ruth Castle, Rick and Pat Heaton took care of that work.
Bill Peterson joined up with George Colaizy and Larry Balmer and me to cut up downed trees and split all the wood we'll need for our fire ring until next Spring.
At noon we were treated to home made chili made by George and Phyllis Colaizy. Added to the chili were salads and mouth watering desserts. I had my first ever sweet potato pie and it was mighty fine.
Again, we want to thank everyone that helped us get ready for winter. Now all we need to do is wait for the snow. And to be honest, we can wait a L-O-N-G time for that.
God bless, Pat & Judy
