Fall Workday Was SO Successful!
We had 23 people show up for Fall Workday this year. We were glad for so many hands because we had a major project for them to work on. This year we cleared an area south of Whitetail Lodge so we can put in a playground area for children who come to SAM with their parents. The area was filled with brush and trees that had to be removed. It really helped to have a Skidsteer on site to move the big logs around.
Along with the new playground area our volunteers cut back the perennial flowers in the Peace Garden and Pathway of Hope garden areas and then covered them with straw for the winter.
A lot of trees that had fallen during summer storms were also cut up and the wood split for our campfire ring area. Be sure to click on the pictures above to see the slide show of people who helped.
Judy and I feel so blessed to have men and women who volunteer every Spring and Fall to come in to help us make Whitetail Lodge and our surrounding area beautiful for our guests. So THANK YOU volunteers for helping us care for hurting people in this way. We just couldn't do it without you. We love you guys! Pat & Judy
