Celebration of Life Surpasses Goal!

Judy and I are pretty excited today. We've been a little concerned this year with our Celebration of Life fund raiser as the giving was much slower than in past years. We have traditionally had a goal of $50,000. But this year we decided to step out in faith a bit more by setting our goal at $65,000. Initially the funds came in like usual and then just seemed to stop in early December. An unusual turn for us.

As of Christmas Eve we were around the $50,000 mark and holding. I guess God just had a Christmas present surprise waiting for us. On Tuesday, Dec. 27, we went into the post office to our PO Box and God had His hidden surprise for us there. After opening all the mail that day our total of around $50,000 exploded to $75,059. That's right! We've surpassed our goal by over $10,000 as of today.

SAM's Board of Directors had a special Christmas party together earlier in December and Judy had told the board members then that while the goal was $65,000 she was going to pray for $100,000. Eyebrows went up a bit around the table, but if there's one thing I've learned is that when Judy says she's praying for something you'd better believe it's more then possible.

Remember, there's still a few days left before our Celebration of Life fund raiser is over (it ends Dec. 31). You can still give via check or by going to our website online at www.smileagainministriescom and clicking on the Helping a Family tab on our home page.

We are humbled and so thankful to all of you who have given toward our goal already. We couldn't do what we do throughout the year without your help. We love you, Pat & Judy
