Through It All My Eyes Are On You

Once again God has captured my heart through music. After our daughter Mickey died God used music over and over again to call out to me. You see, it was not well with my soul. Mickey’s death just crushed my spirit and caused me, NOT to leave God behind, but just to close down my relationship with Him.

That’s when God went to work through His Holy Spirit. He just kept calling to me. Sometimes as I read my Bible. Sometimes through the words of my Judy. But SO often He called to me through music. And as I listen to Kristene DiMarco’s, IT IS WELL, I find myself rejoicing in the truths of this song. It IS well with my soul today. I know that the waves and wind still know His name. God IS faithful.

I believe the key to this song lies in the words, “Through it all, my eyes are on You.” After the death of a child it’s so easy to take our eyes off of God. So easy to simply turn away. So easy to tell God we don’t want Him in our lives any more. We don’t want a relationship with Him. And so we take our eyes off of Jesus, off of God, and we struggle alone on this journey we call grief. That kind of journey is a lonely, broken one, filled with lows and tears of despair.

If you find yourself alone on your grief journey today will you please listen to the song on this blog? And as you listen I know you’ll hear His voice. You’ll hear Him saying, “I’m here. I care. I’ve counted every tear.” Shhhh. Listen! You’ll hear Him, and I believe you’ll be able to join me in saying, “It is well, with my soul.”

Would you do us one more favor? Please? If you listened to this song, and you heard God calling out to you, would you let Judy and me know? Message us through Facebook, or email us at pat@smileagainministries.com Thanks, we love you, Pat & Judy
